Can someone explain me WHY SWITZERLAND DIDN’T MAKE IT ??????????????????????????????????? My god it was by far my favorite ESC08 song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And… well Portugal on the final ??? Come on… Bulgaria or Malta should be on the final… and Croatia ! It’s just… agh!!! I hate Europe ! They need a drastic change on the voting system… definitely…

An embarassing six out of ten for me. It absolutely shocked me that four western countries qualified. I think having all five Scandanavian countries in the final will hurt Sweden (competition for neighbor votes). Not surprised to see Latvia make it (for my tenth choice, I debated Albania, Belarus, and Latvia, and of course chose the only one that DIDN’t go through). I think Hungary deserved to make it. I liked Macedonia (and they had a good draw – don’t know what happened there). I never understood the appeal of Bulgaria, but every one else had it high on their list (I never understood the appeal of Bulgaria last year, either, but last year they finished in the top five).

the appeal of bulgaria i think it’s the mix of sounds… starting with some house, a bit of hip hop and also reggae… still… Switzerland T_T

@ Rafeal: I liked Switzerland’s song (and voted for them) but clearly we’re in the minority here. Nothing wrong with the voting system, they sanitised it this year and added a jury vote, but I guess there were many good songs and they couldn’t all go to the final. My guess is the jury vote went to Portugal.

I had liked Bulgaria when I first heard the song, but when I saw the lead singer dressed like the Andorran lady I thought they’d probably go the same way – and they did.

I expected Ukraine, Turkey, Sweden, Latvia, Georgia, Iceland and Albania to qualify, so no surprises there. Was a bit taken aback by Croatia and Denmark, I really didn’t think they’d make it through.

Bulgaria was great! The singer is bad, but still the song is one of the best ESC has ever seen. Such a shame Europe’s musical taste sucks! We should have been on the final!
